This one is a show-stopper! It is gorgeous, don’t you think? When King Arthur Flour publishes a list of their top bread recipes and then labels them as EXTRAORDINARY, I knew I just had to delve right into the list and make as many of them as my family would be willing to eat. Bonus, King Arthur Flour is having a contest based on these extraordinary bread recipes! I love me some healthy competition!

The Cinnamon Roll is the breakfast king in my kitchen. It’s one of those dishes everyone will rush to the kitchen (even the non-early risers) to taste while still warm from the oven. Choosing the Cinnamon Star as the first recipe was an easy decision! I'm happy to report that it is not only beautiful, but it is delicious and much easier to assemble than it appears. Plus, this recipe also got everyone rushing to the kitchen when the smell of cinnamon drifted their way!

This sweet bread is very similar to the classic cinnamon roll dough, but the cinnamon sugar is layered in between several layers of the dough and then twisted. You will get that caramelized cinnamon sugar in every bite! Yum. I made a dipping sauce using the standard ingredients that you would normally use to top cinnamon rolls. As we pulled apart sections of the star we could dip (or slather). Adding the glaze was good, but this recipe did not need anything extra to be amazing.

I am excited to bake this again. I think I will replace the cinnamon sugar with Nutella! Or alternate the layers between Nutella and marshmallow cream. The possibilities are endless once you understand the technique.
