Pumpkin pie spice is so easy to make at home, and if you are baking regularly, you probably have the base spices already in your pantry that make up this blend. If you look at other recipes for pumpkin pie spice, you probably will notice that most of them contain the same base ingredients. Some, like mine, will add allspice for that little something extra. The recipes differences come in the quantity of each spice in the recipe.
There is not a top-secret scientific reason for the measurements in any of these recipes. It comes down to what flavors you like (or do not like). This recipe is what I consider my house blend. These are the combination and measurements that I go to when I'm looking for those warm spices. This is completely customizable to your tastes, use this as a guide to get started making your own blends.
This recipe usually kicks off the start of my baking prep for the season. I find it convenient to spend a little time getting several different house blends like this together and storing them for future baking. Once I have the pumpkin pie spice blend in the pantry ready to go, I find more and more opportunities every year to use it.

This recipe is the blend that I have found that my family likes and I use over and over when I am baking with pumpkin or looking to recreate that pumpkin spice taste. It is perfect in pumpkin muffin, scones, and coffee cake recipes. I also love to use it in pumpkin lattes, then sprinkle a little extra on top of the whip cream topping. It is not only a beautiful presentation but adds a little something special.
